Last European primary forests threatened by loggers?

A few days ago, the European Commission referred Poland to the Court of Justice for illegal logging in the Bialowieza forest, one of the oldest forests in Europe. It has been a few months now that the Commission, warned by Polish activists and NGOs, has been keeping a watch on logging activities in this protected border forest, where a threefold increase of logging has been noticed. Despite national and international protests, the Polish government is showing clear will to bypass conservation regulations and exploit the resource. Using justifications that many consider fallacious, the Minister of Environment gave its consent to expand the planned logging area.
